India head coach Rahul Dravid has stressed the need to add batting depth to the West Indies after their 2-3 loss in the T20 series.
India fielded a long tail in the series which included Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mukesh Kumar. Spin all-rounder Axar Patel finished seventh.
In the series of decisions, India failed to accelerate the death toss and ended up at 165/9. West Indies renewed the goal with two changes. "I think our team here, probably didn't give us the flexibility to change the combinations a little bit. But I think going forward we have to look at certain areas where we can improve.

"Finding depth in our batting has been an area we want to work on. We'll try to do our best but that's definitely an area we can look at, how we can't weaken our bowling attack but make sure we have depth in our batting, ” Dravid said on Sunday.
In the West Indies, on the other hand, Alzarri Joseph reached number 11 with a side full of bowling. "As these games go on and the points go up and up if you look at the Caribbean, Alzarri Joseph came in at 11 and he can hit a bad ball. So you have sides that have that depth.

"Obviously we have challenges on that front and we have to deal with them. That's certainly something that this series has shown us and we have to build on that depth, noted the Indian coach.
Tilak Varma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Mukesh Kumar made their T20 debuts and Dravid impressed all of them. Varma made his international debut in the series and proved that he is here to stay.
"I thought all the three guys who made their debuts in this series stood up. Yashasvi Jaiswal in the fourth match, I thought he bowled very good innings. He showed us what he can do in the IPL and it was great to see him. repeat that in international cricket.
