Srinagar Smart City Project CEO Amir Khan said the hoisting of the national flag was a historic moment for the city.
"Ghanta Ghar and Lal Chowk Srinagar are very iconic places that Tiranga will be decorating as part of the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav campaign," Khan said.
He added that several places across the city and the union territory will be decorated as people celebrate Azad ka Amrit Mahotsav by organizing Tiranga rallies. Asked about the month-long development work in the Lal Chowk area - the commercial hub of the city - Khan said the project was in its final stages and would be inaugurated before Independence Day.
