The Islamabad High Court on Tuesday lifted Imran Khan's conviction and three-year prison sentence in the Toshakhana corruption case and ordered his release in a major relief to the jailed former prime minister of Pakistan.
Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangir announced the expected verdict, which was reserved on Monday.
"The IHC has stayed the court's decision," Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party said in a short WhatsApp message.
"A copy of the judgment will be available soon... All we are saying now is that [Imran's] application has been accepted," Justice Farooq said.
