A senior police officer was killed by terrorists in north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Tuesday as the region witnessed a surge in violence.

The police officer lost his life in a terror attack that took place in the Wailoo-Kralpora area of ​​Baramulla.

This was the third such terror attack in as many days in the Kashmir Valley.
While a policeman was seriously injured in a terror firing incident in Srinagar on Sunday, a worker from Uttar Pradesh was shot dead in Pulwama district on Monday.

“The injured policeman succumbed to his injuries and became a martyr.

We pay our deepest respects to the martyr and stand with his family at this critical time,” Victim, identified as HC Ghulam Muhammad Dar, resident of Wailoo-Kralpora of Baramulla, was targeted by terrorists at his residence.

After being shot, Dar was taken to Tangmarg Sub-Hospital for emergency treatment.
“His condition was critical and he succumbed to his injuries,” police said.
Dar is working as reader for Deputy Superintendent of Srinagar at Srinagar District Police Line.

The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges facing the region due to acts of terrorism.
Meanwhile, the entire area has been cordoned off by security forces to arrest the attackers.

On Sunday, a Masroor Ahmad police officer was seriously injured when terrorists opened fire in Eidgah locality of Srinagar.

He has undergone surgery and is recovering from serious injuries.
