Jammu and Kashmir On Wednesday, the Smart City initiative's Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha introduced a fleet of 100 battery-operated vehicles and started operating Srinagar's e-bus service.

These environmentally friendly, battery-powered e-buses will travel 15 predetermined routes. "TATA Motors and everyone involved in this effort have my sincere gratitude. Lt Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his hope that the e-bus service will help the people of Srinagar.

The e-buses were purchased as part of the Smart City program, according to Athar Aamir Khan, CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited, with the intention of reducing the lack of public transportation options.

According to him, there are two different kinds of electric buses: 25 12-meter vehicles and 75 nine-meter buses. According to him, these electric buses would guarantee zero emissions and provide the driver complete control over the doors and other features of the vehicle.

These buses resemble those in London more than anything else. A 12-year contract has been negotiated with Tata for the same years that the buses will operate, and appropriate route planning has been done in this respect.
To keep passengers comfortable, the buses include air conditioning and air curtains.

Five more cameras are positioned thoughtfully throughout the bus, including ones at the front, rear, and next to the driver's seat. The buses have a panic button that connects to a command and control center in the event of an emergency, providing quick assistance.
