Previous South Africa captain Faf du Plessis has alluded to a rebound to global cricket in front of the impending T20 World Cup, saying that he has been in conversation with the Porteas' white-ball mentor Deny Walter for the recent years.

Du Plessis last highlighted in a T20I quite a while back in 2020. While his last counterpart for South Africa was a Test against Pakistan in February 2021.
