The High Court on Monday maintained the production of Ladakh as an Association Region (UT) considering its essential area and security concerns even as it decided not to manage on the lawfulness of the revamping of J&K into two UTs of Ladakh and J&K. Ladakh is the main Indian state or UT that offers borders with both China and Pakistan. "The situation with Ladakh as an UT is maintained on the grounds that Article 3(a), read with Clarification I, licenses shaping an UT by partition of a region from any state.
