Implementation Directorate (ED) on Friday said that it has joined enduring properties as land estimating 257 kanal and 19 marlas in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar worth Rs 193.46 crore regarding its tax evasion test into the J&K State Co-employable Bank (JKSCB) including a phony helpful society Waterway Jhelum Co-usable House Building Society.

The ED in a proclamation said that it joined steadfast property at Shivpora in Srinagar in a PMLA case connected with the monetary misrepresentation committed with JKSCB.

The ED said that the extortion included endorsing of credit to the tune of Rs 250 crore (payment sum Rs 223 crore), in 2019, to a phony helpful society Waterway Jehlum Co-employable House Building Society, Shivpora, by the then Director of JKSCB and others.

The ED had enrolled a case based on FIR and resulting charge sheets recorded by Policing, Srinagar summoning different segments of Ranbir Reformatory Code and Jammu and Kashmir Counteraction of Debasement Act Samvat 2006 (Relating to IPC and PCA) against five denounced people — Hilal Ahmad Mir (Executive of Stream Jehlum Co-employable House Building Society), Abdul Hamid Hajam (Secretary of Waterway Jehlum Co-usable House Building Society), Mohammad Mujeeb Ur Rehman Ghassi (the then Enlistment center of Helpful Social orders, J&K), Syed Ashiq Hussain (the then Dy Recorder of Co-usable Social orders, J&K) and Mohammad Shafi Dar (the then Director of JKSCB).

The organization said that its test uncovered that the cash determined out of the said extortion was used for obtaining the previously mentioned undaunted property.
