2 IEDs stopped on roadway in Jammu

Two strong Ad libbed Dangerous Gadgets (IEDs) of 1.5 kg and 1 kg each were found in the boundary area of Kathua along the Jammu-Srinagar Public Parkway.

During an early morning search activity by the Exceptional Tasks Gathering (SOG) of Kathua region, the police recuperated two dubious items stuffed in a polythene bundle concealed in the hedges along the Bein Nalla close to the incineration ground.

"Acting expeditiously, the Bomb Removal Crew (BDS) was called to assess the items. Upon assessment, it was uncovered that the two things were IEDs," an authority said.

Every IED was held inside a plastic jug and comprised of parts like an electric detonator, a 9V battery (beginning from Malaysia), a circuit, screws filling in as splinters, and hazardous material. Also, the plastic holders lodging the IEDs were covered with Mortar of Paris.

"Perceiving the expected risk, the two IEDs were cautiously and effectively destroyed on the spot by the police group, forestalling any likely mischief. The gadget was taken into ownership after a controlled explosion. A case has been enrolled," the authority said.

Kathua is arranged along the Global Line (IB) with Pakistan and endeavors of invasion from the boundary wall are normal. The police are examining assuming that the IEDs were intended for Kathua or were sent from Pakistan to be conveyed somewhere else in the UT.
