The Home Service has concluded that the Free Development System (FMR) among India and Myanmar be rejected to guarantee the inner security of the nation and to keep up with the segment construction of India's North-eastern states lining Myanmar, Home Pastor Amit Shah said on Thursday.
"Since the service of outside undertakings is at present during the time spent rejecting it, the home service has suggested the quick suspension of the FMR," he further said in a post on X.
Recently, Shah had declared that the public authority will start fencing the India-Myanmar line.
"It has chosen to build a wall along the whole 1643-kilometer-long Indo-Myanmar line. To work with better observation, a watch track along the boundary will likewise be cleared.
"Out of the complete line length, a 10 km stretch in Moreh, Manipur, has proactively been fenced. Moreover, two pilot tasks of fencing through a Half breed Reconnaissance Framework (HSS) are under execution. They will close a stretch of 1 km each in Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur. Moreover, wall works covering approx 20 km in Manipur have additionally been supported, and the work will begin soon," he had tweeted on February 6.
