Ukraine hurried fortifications to its northeastern Kharkiv district on Friday to hold off a Russian endeavor to break nearby safeguards, specialists said, flagging a strategic switch in the conflict by Moscow that Ukrainian authorities had been expecting for quite a long time.
Serious evening time shelling designated Vovchansk, in the Kharkiv district and under 5 km (3 miles) from the Russian line, local Gov Oleh Syniehubov said. The blast killed no less than one regular citizen and injured five others.
Around sunrise, Russian infantry attempted to infiltrate Ukrainian protections close to Vovchansk, the Ukrainian Guard Service said, adding that it had sent hold units to fight off the assault.
