The entire Jammu region has been shaken by three encounters and a terror attack on a pilgrim bus in Reasi within four days.
A cop was harmed on Wednesday night when psychological oppressors started shooting at a hunt party in a town in Gandoh area of Jammu and Kashmir's Doda region, authorities said. On Wednesday morning, an encounter in the Hiranagar area of the Kathua district resulted in the deaths of a member of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and a terrorist.
During an operation in Kathua, security personnel display recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosives.
They claimed that security forces retaliated after receiving a report of firing from the Kota top area of Bhalesa around 7.41 p.m. When the last reports were received, there was a brief firefight. They added that reinforcements have been rushed to the location to strengthen the cordon. This was the second terror-related incident in the last 24 hours in Doda, and it was the fourth in J&K in the last three days.
A group of ultras opened fire on Army and police personnel manning a checkpoint in Doda, injuring five Rashtriya Rifles troopers and one special police officer (SPO). The personnel who were hurt were transported to the Bhaderwah hospital for treatment. After the incident, a search was started.
Around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, a group of at least two terrorists entered Saida Sukhal village near Koota Morh in the district, triggering the confrontation in Kathua. Constable Kabir Dass, who belonged to the 121 Battalion of the CRPF and was from Madhya Pradesh, passed away during the Kathua encounter. Dass died from a bullet wound to the right side of his upper body. Another civilian, 45-year-old Om Prakash, was struck in the left arm. He was transported to the medical facility where he is receiving treatment. Late on Tuesday, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain visited Saida Sukhal, where he discussed the plan to eliminate the remaining ultra.
By Tuesday evening, one of the two terrorists had been eliminated. Jain claimed that in the late evening, two terrorists who appeared to have just entered the village surfaced. They asked some of the locals for water, but the villagers refused because they were suspicious of their identities.
