Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, threatened to apply pressure on the Central government if it did not reinstate Jammu and Kashmir's statehood following the conclusion of the Assembly elections on Monday.
Additionally, he asserted that during the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra had "broken the psyche" of the INDIA bloc.
"In the history of the nation, this was the first instance of a state becoming a Union Territory. Your right to democracy was taken. Gandhi declared, "We have prioritized the demand for the restoration of statehood."
At an election rally in the Poonch district's Surankote area, he went on to promote the candidates of the Congress-National Conference coalition by saying, "If they fail to restore statehood after the polls, we will put pressure on them to ensure that your statehood is restored."
Gandhi claimed that non-locals were in charge of Jammu and Kashmir and that the region was under Delhi's authority.

The 90-member Jammu and Kashmir Assembly is now holding its three-phase elections. Voting will take place on Wednesday for the second phase and on October 1 for the third.
On October 8, the results will be announced.
