The Public Community for Seismology (NCS) detailed that the tremor happened at 6:35 AM (IST) with its focal point at scope 28.86 degrees North and longitude 87.51 degrees East, at a profundity of 10 kilometers. The focal point was situated in Xizang (Tibet Independent Locale), close to the Nepal line.

"EQ of M: 7.1, On: 07/01/2025 06:35:18 IST, Lat: 28.86 N, Long: 87.51 E, Profundity: 10 Km, Area: Xizang," the NCS posted on X.

Two ensuing quakes were kept in the locale soon after. A 4.7 size quake was accounted for at 7:02 AM (IST) with its focal point at scope 28.60 degrees North and longitude 87.68 degrees East, at a profundity of 10 kilometers.

Minutes after the fact, at 7:07 AM (IST), one more tremor of greatness 4.9 was enrolled at scope 28.68 degrees North and longitude 87.54 degrees East, at a profundity of 30 kilometers.
