After their match this evening, either the Mumbai Indians (16 points) or the Punjab Kings (17 points) are expected to surpass GT (18 points), hence a victory is essential for RCB (17 points).

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play cautiously in their final league match against the unpredictable Lucknow Super Giants here on Tuesday in an attempt to finish in the top two. The hosts will be eager to end the season on a high note following a largely forgettable campaign.
Due to the Gujarat Titans' consecutive losses, third-place RCB now has a fantastic chance to finish in the top two for the first time since 2016. The top two teams compete in Qualifier 1, from which the victor advances to the final, while the losing team advances to Qualifier 2, which pits the third-place finishers against the winner of the eliminator.
With 17 points, RCB has a very small margin of error. After their match this evening, either the Mumbai Indians (16 points) or the Punjab Kings (17 points) will surpass GT (18 points), so a victory is essential.

Prior to the league's 10-day break because of the India-Pakistan military dispute, RCB was playing at a high level and had won four straight games. However, their momentum seems to have been disrupted by the break.
Bengaluru has lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 42 runs after the game was rained out since the restart. Rustiness was noticeable against SRH, and their most recent victory occurred on May 3.
We were rusty. At first, the intensity wasn't there. After that defeat, stand-in captain Jitesh Sharma acknowledged, "We were bowling more accurately in the death (overs)."
The RCB camp is feeling more upbeat now that Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood is back. With 18 wickets in 10 games this season, Hazlewood has been the team's most impressive player and is currently ranked fourth among the tournament's top wicket-takers.
Because they played their most recent game at Ekana Stadium, RCB will also be accustomed to the conditions.
But defeating the Lucknow Super Giants won't be simple. After crushing the Gujarat Titans in their most recent match, the hosts enter the game with a lot of confidence.
Will O'Rourke, who was signed to replace Mayank Yadav due to injury, has been a good addition. After serving his one-match suspension for animated send-offs, spinner Digvesh Rathi, who has been LSG's season-long find, will also play in the match.
We have occasionally demonstrated that we are capable of playing good cricket, as we have discussed. We had opportunities during the tournament, but we didn't take them; that's just part of the game," Pant stated last week.
