Last week, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk began insulting Trump on social media, calling the president's expansive tax and spending bill a "disgusting abomination." Trump said that their relationship was over on Saturday, but he has since said that he would not mind if Musk called to wish him well. I'm sorry about some of my posts last week about President Donald Trump. In a post that Musk made on his social media platform X, he wrote, "They went too far." He did not say which specific posts he was talking about.
Tesla shares in Frankfurt were up 2.44% after Musk's post.
Since the dispute began, Musk has deleted some social media posts critical of Trump, including one signaling support for impeaching the president.
Sources close to Musk had said his anger has started to subside, and that they believe he may want to repair his relationship with Trump.
