June 11, 2025: After two days, the heatwave conditions in various parts of northwest India are expected to end. However, rain and thunderstorms are still possible in some parts of the region during the week. Due to the current high temperature, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Punjab until June 12 and has urged the public to take precautions against heat-related illness. According to a bulletin that was released on June 10 by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light or moderate rainfall is likely in some areas, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds with speeds of up to 40-50 kmph. Over the next four days, the maximum temperature is unlikely to change much in northwest India, but it will gradually drop by 2-4 °C. Warm night conditions are also very likely in isolated pockets over Punjab and Haryana.
The state's highest maximum temperature was 45.6 degrees Celsius in Bathinda over the past 24 hours, while the state's lowest minimum temperature was 25.8 degrees Celsius, also in Bathinda.
