June 16, 2025: In the midst of rising tensions in the Middle East, a senior Iranian officer of the country's elite forces has asserted in Tehran that Pakistan will launch a nuclear attack on Israel if it drops a nuclear bomb on Iran.
During an interview on Iranian television while a barrage of missiles pounded Iran and Israel, General Mohsen Rezae made the remarks. In the two nations, approximately 248 deaths have been reported—230 in Iran and 18 in Israel. Rezaei, a senior officer in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) who is also a member of Iran's National Security Council, stated, "Pakistan has assured us that if Israel uses a nuclear bomb on Iran, they will attack Israel with a nuclear bomb." Israel has used nuclear weapons against Iran.

According to ICAN (International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons), Israel and Pakistan are two of the nine nations that currently have nuclear weapons. Rezae cited Pakistan's pledge to "stand behind Iran" and its appeal to the Muslim world to unite following an ugly missile exchange between the two nations in early 2024. He also claimed that Tehran has hidden capabilities that are yet to be revealed to the world.
