Aug 6, 2025: Kyiv has found components from India in Russian drones used for attacks on Ukraine, the country’s top presidential official said on Tuesday.
On Telegram, presidential chief of staff Andriy Yermak stated that these drones were involved in attacks against civilians along the frontlines. In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, stated that mercenaries from Africa, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Tajikistan were fighting alongside Russian forces in the ongoing conflict. This announcement comes as Ukraine struggles with the brutal war that has displaced millions and killed countless people.
Besides, NATO has started coordinating regular deliveries of large weapons packages to Ukraine after the Netherlands said it would provide air defence equipment, ammunition and other military aid worth USD 578 million.
Along with its Nordic neighbors Denmark and Norway, Sweden also announced that it would contribute USD 275 million to a joint effort to provide USD 500 million worth of air defenses, anti-tank weapons, ammunition, and spare parts. Although the Nordic package is anticipated to arrive in September, two deliveries of equipment, the majority of which was purchased in the United States, are anticipated this month.
The supplies are made in response to Ukraine's most pressing battlefield requirements. The weapons and ammunition are then tracked down and sent on by NATO allies.
The alliance stated, "Packages will be prepared quickly and issued regularly." The United Nations has stated that Russia's unrelenting bombardment of urban areas behind the frontline has killed more than 12,000 Ukrainian civilians, making the most urgent requirement for air defense systems. Along the 1,000-kilometer frontline, Russia's larger army is also making slow but costly progress. It is currently conducting an operation to seize Pokrovsk, an important logistical hub in the east.
