Aug 18, 2025: Police in Rajasthan's Khairthal-Tijara district said that a man's body was found stuffed in a drum on the roof of a house. His wife, three children, and the landlord's son were missing.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajendra Singh Nirwan said on Sunday that the deceased was Hansram alias Suraj, a native of Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur district who lived in Adarsh Colony of Kishangarhbas with his wife and three children.
After neighbors reported a foul odor, the body, which had been cut in the throat by a sharp object, was found. Nirwan stated, "Salt had been put over the body to speed up decomposition." For the past one and a half months, Hansram had worked at a brick kiln and lived in a room on the roof that was rented. His wife Sunita, their three children, and the landlord's son, Jitendra, have been missing since Saturday, police said.
"The deceased had a drinking problem and frequently drank with Jitendra. The DSP added, "The families of both Jitendra and Hansram have not been found since Saturday evening." Police have launched a search for the missing persons. The body has been sent for post-mortem and a case registered.
