J&K DGP sanctions scholarships in favour of 56 police wards

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP), Dr S P Vaid has sanctioned scholarship of Rs 3,29,000 in favour of 35 school going children of police martyrs and 21 wards of deceased personnel.

The scholarships have been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund and Central Police Education Fund for the academic year 2016-17, a police spokesman said here this evening. He said GP has sanctioned Rs 2,66,000 in favour wards of police martyrs, who laid down their lives in line of their duty.

The DGP has also sanctioned Rs. 63,000 in favour wards of the police personnel, who died while in service due to natural or accidental deaths.
