Classes remain off in 6 dists today

According to the decision arrived at by the respective district administrations, the classes in various districts of Kashmir shall remain suspended on May 31 as “a precautionary measure”, an official statement said today.

The district administration in Srinagar has decided that the colleges and higher secondary schools in the city shall remain closed tomorrow.

In Budgam, the classes in all higher secondary schools and colleges shall remain suspended tomorrow. However, the staff shall remain present in the institutions, the official statement said.

In Anantnag and Shopian districts, the classes shall remain suspended in all educational institutions, the statement said.

Meanwhile, as per the district administration of Kupwara, the classes in all degree colleges shall remain suspended on May 31, but the university-level exams will be conducted as per schedule.

The district administration said the classes in Boys Higher Secondary School, Trehgam, Girls Higher Secondary School, Trehgam, Boys Higher Secondary School, Kralpora, Boys Higher Secondary School, Handwara, Boys Higher Secondary School, Banair, Langate, Boys Higher Secondary School, Qalamabad, Boys Higher Secondary School, Kupwara, and Boys Higher Secondary School, Drugmullah, shall remain suspended tomorrow.

“The remaining higher secondary schools, high schools, middle schools and primary schools will be open in the district,” it said.

According to the District Magistrate, Pulwama, all schools and colleges in the district shall remain closed on May 31 and June 1 as a “precautionary measure”, a statement said.
