24621 IHHL to come up in Bandipora under SBM
Target to declare Bandipora as ODF by end of this Fiscal
BANDIPORA, AUGUST 22: Over Rs.32.29 crore is being incurred on the execution of 24,621 Individual Household Latrines (IHHL) under Swatch Baharat Mission (SBM) in district Bandipora during current financial year.
This was stated at a review meeting held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora here today.
The DDC reviewed block wise status of implementation of the programme, where he and was informed that work is apace to achieve the target of constructing 14773 IHHL among BPL families and 9848 IHHL among APL families in all 12 blocks of the district.
It was further informed that 2000 more IHHL will be construed in the district under MGNREGA during current financial year.
The DDC directed officers to speed up the tempo of work and ensure that cent percent target is achieved by the end of this fiscal, for which, the DDC exhorted to put the construction work on mission mode and ensure that the district is declared as open Defecation Free (ODF) district by the end of this fiscal. He also directed them to clear all previous liabilities on this account so that more and more people will inspire to construct IHHL.
Pertinently Rs.12000 are being provided to every family for construction of individual household latrine.
The executive officers of municipalities and officers of education department were sensitized to gear up their manpower and ensure proper coordination with Rural Development Department to make the SBM a success in the district.
The DDC also stressed for holding awareness camps in both rural as well as urban areas to motivate people to avail the benefits of SBM for constructing IHHL.
In an another meeting with Bankers and Sponsoring Agencies, the DDC reviewed the pace of progress on various ongoing programmes initiated by Prime Minister, Narinder Modi including Housing for All, Digital India and Cashless Transaction, Adhaar linkages with banks .
The DDC directed Officers to strictly implement the schemes launched by the Prime Minister. He also stressed for clearing of all impediments so that beneficiaries could be benefited on time.
The Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Planning Officer, Deputy CEO, CAHO, ZEOs, BDOs, Bankers and other concerned attended the meetings.
