Congress today asked J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti, to clear her stand on deporting the Rohingya Muslim Refugees. Congress Spokesperson Salman Nizami said, Centre claims in SC that Rohingya’s are security threat & they should immediately be deported but J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti had claimed in the assembly that Rohingya’s have no link to militancy. She (Mehbooba) also told the house that the govt has not received any report of radicalisation of Rohingyas by any “mysterious organizations”. Nizami said, but today Mehbooba is silent when the centre presented its report to the SC claiming Rohingya Muslims have links with ISI &ISIS.

It seems Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is hand in glove with the BJP and other affiliates of the RSS in concerted efforts to deport Rohingya Refugees. If you have no understanding with BJP why don’t you break ties with them”, Nizami said and asked Mehbooba Mufti to stick to one stand instead of sticking to both stands. He asked the CM to clear her stand on special status of the State also and do something to save the same. He said, when the govt can provide shelter to Buddhist refugees of Tibet, Srilanka, Afghanistan, Pakistan also also can allow Nepalese to live here, then why it wants to send back 40,000 Mynamar Muslim refugees.

Nizami said BJP Govt is well aware of the human rights violations Rohingya Muslims have had to face in Myanmar and it would be outrageous to abandon them to their fates, iy shows blatant disregard for Govt’s obligations under international law”. He said the government should put an end to any plans to deport the Rohingya, and instead register them so that they can get an education and health care and find work.
