BVP organises national group song competition

Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP), Swami Vivekanand Branch, Gandhi Nagar, organised National Group Song Competition here at Arya Samaj Mandir Shastri Nagar on Thursday. About nine schools of the area participated in the event.
On the occasion, Speaker J and K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta was the Chief Guest. The students presented various songs in Hindi and Sanskrit to highlight the cultural heritage of the country. Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder said such variety of programmes of cultural importance have very vital role in raising the cultural values of the State and country at large. Prof Vijay Lakshmi, Prof. Suman Pal and Prof Devinder Kour were the jury members. Vaid, G.D Gupta Chief Advisor, Lala Mukund Lal and Ameeta were also present.
Regional Secretaries Dev Raj, Arun Sharma and Dr Santosh Gupta gave a brief description of the activities of the Bhartiya Vikas Parishad in making aware of the programmes of the government to reach among the general public at large and thereby promoting the spiritual and cultural heritage.
President of the Branch, Vijay Sharma spoke about various ongoing projects undertaken by the branch.
S.D Tara Puri High School bagged first position while Popular Model Academy Nanak Nagar and Shiksha Niketan Jeevan Nagar secured second and third positions respectively.
S.P Khajuria extended the vote of thanks.
