A two-day workshop-cum-training on scanning and digitization of land records was organized here on Thursday at the Revenue Training Institute. The workshop organized under Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) was conducted on the directions of the Revenue Minister, Abdul Rehman Veeri and concluded here. Commissioner, Survey and Land records, Shahid Anayatullah, inaugurated the workshop which was attended by Regional Director, Survey and Land Records, Rifat Kohli, Principal Revenue Training Institute, Harvinder Kour, Assistant Settlement Officer, Jammu, Tehsildars, Consultant, JaKLaRMA, Project Coordinator, DILRMP, Jammu Sr. Manager, Ramtech Software Solutions Private Limited (service Provider) , Naib Tehsildas, Girdawars and Patwaris of all the Tehsils of district Jammu. He said that the revenue Minister and the Financial Commissioner Revenue, J&K are personally reviewing the progress in this regard so that the project is properly implemented. In this backdrop, he requested the revenue officers/officials to work with zeal to make this project a true success story. The Regional Director, Survey and Land Records, Jammu acquainted the participants with various components of the project. She informed about the scanning, Khasra indexing, data entry of the textual records, digitization of the cadastral map and its use with respect to the satellite imagery and integration with the records. Dr. Rana Singh presented a power point presentation with regard to the scope and objectives of the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme. He acquainted the officers about the way in which the project will be carried out in the State.
