Raju seeks public support to make Jammu a smart city

On the culmination of 15-days Swachhta Hi Sewa campaign marking third anniversary of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) is going to organise walkathon on October 2, 2017, which will be led by Dy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh. Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, M. Raju, Commissioner JMC, said that during the fortnight celebrations various programmes are being carried out by JMC i.e, cleanliness drives, awareness campaign, quiz, debate, etc. He also briefed about the progress made in components of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan like individual toilets, community toilets and prestigious Jammu smart city project. JMC Commissioner urged upon the people of Jammu city to support wholeheartedly the efforts of JMC to make Jammu a clean and green city. He emphasised that without public participation it is not possible to achieve positive results under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Among those who were present in the press conference included Rajesh Sharma Joint Commissioner JMC, Ranjit Singh, Secretary JMC, Meenakshi Koul ACR JMC, Dr Anita Salgotra Health Officer, Rakesh Gupta Special Assistant to Commissioner JMC, Talat Mehmood Chief Transport Officer JMC and Rajiv Khajuria Founder Emeritus National Development Foundation.
