It is pertinent to mention that the anti-encroachment drive has been supplemented by the Swachh Bharat Mission and all the scrap and unserviceable vehicles/scrap is being removed with the assistance of the local shopkeeper’s association to maintain the area clean and pollution free. The team was led by Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Vice Chairman JDA himself, who supervised the entire operation and heard the public also for redressal of their grievances.
In a statement he said that JDA does not know the credentials of persons occupying its property in the garb of Khokhas, Rehris and the scrap dumped thus creating nuisance and creating unhygienic conditions.
“The JDA has initiated the drive to achieve twin objectives viz cleanliness and driving out unauthorised occupants and the operation has been named as ‘Operation Flush Out’ which is aimed to provide good look to the entire premises of Transport Nagar,” he added. He said that the drive will continue till the entire complex is cleared from the encroachments. Such operations will be extended to other JDA colonies and premises in near future, he added.
Meanwhile, JDA has started the process of identifying rent defaulters also and the axe is likely to fall on big wigs.
