Police holds awareness programme on drug abuse

To educate the youth about the ill effects of drug addiction and as a part of drive against drug menace, Doda Police held an awareness programme on 'Drug Abuse,' here at Shaheen Public Higher Secondary School on Friday. DySP Headquarters Doda Iftkhar Ahmed along with Counselor Drug DeAddiction Baljeet Singh were the resource persons. Around 500 students and staff of the school participated in the event. Iftkhar Ahmed in his lecture stated that drug free society is one of the objectives outlined by DGP J&K for the year 2017. In furtherance to the said objective District Police Doda under the command of SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir is putting all its efforts to make a drug free Doda District. He appealed the youth to refrain from drug menace, which has eaten the vitals of the society. He exhorted upon the youth community to shun the path of drug menace and put their best efforts in doing good things for the society. Staff and students of Shaheen Public Higher Secondary School Doda as well as youth and locals of the area appreciated the role of J&K Police in organising such lectures in the educational institutions. Baljeet Singh counselor drug de-addiction also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the ill effects of drug addiction.
