Chairman, District Health Society (Deputy Commissioner) Rajouri has quashed the selection process initiated by Health Department for selection of 33 Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHW) after an enquiry committee found glaring irregularities and tempering.
The enquiry committee headed by Addl. Deputy Commissioner and comprised of Chief Medical Officer, Dy. Registrar Cooperatives, Asstt. Regional Transport Officer, Deputy Director Planning and a Block Medical Officer reported that selection record has been tempered in NHM Section, no secrecy was maintained, insertion of new answer-sheets, removal of genuine answer-sheets, lack of safe custody and other serious irregularities. The committee constituted after many complaints about irregularities came up with serious fraud and irregularities committed by NHM staff.
The selection process has been quashed based on the findings of enquiry committee meanwhile District Police will initiate criminal investigation against the officials for prosecution and legal action in view of criminal conspiracy established by the committee.
The staff of NHM associated with the selection process has been debarred from all further recruitment / selection process and administrative assignments. It has also been ordered to shift the NHM section from CMO office to District Collectorate.
Selection process will be carried out afresh and only those candidates who had applied earlier will be eligible to appear irrespective of disqualification on account of age achieved thereafter.
The selection process held in the month of January 2017 came into controversy after some NHM officials circulated a fake list of selectees being unable to adjust them in selection list in view of strict selection process. However the inquiry committee revealed that large scale tempering was done after retirement on superannuation of the then Chief Medical Officer. Subsequently, enquiry was ordered in June 2017. Health department has been directed to initiate and complete the selection process within a period of one month.
