Launching the Tiranga Yatra in Jammu region, ex-MLA and NPP President Balwant Singh Mankotia appealed to the people of State to celebrate 71st Accession Day like Diwali, Eid and Gurpurab with enthusiasm and fervour.
“Accession with Union of India on 27th Oct 1947 provide us privilege to become respectable citizen and nationalistic people of India,” Mankotia said.
Mankotia along with Youth President Yash Pal Kundal launched the Tiranga Yatra from Samba which will cover each district of Jammu region and conclude on 27th October.
Tiranga Yatra started on Sunday reached Sumb of Samba District where hundreds of people welcomed the Yatra with enthusiasm.
While addressing the large gathering at Sumb, Mankotia disclosed that this Tiranga Yatra will cover all the ten districts of Jammu region and NPP will try to hoist the Tricolour at Lal Chowk to fulfill the dream of one India one Constitution from Kashmir to Kanayakumari.
Kundal reminded that during partition in 1947, Maharaja Hari Singh was facing pressure to accede J and K with Pakistan but being a visionary leader he signed Instrument of Accession with Union of India and provided privilege for us to become citizens of free India.
Shiv Charan Singh, Parshotam Parihar, Naresh Sharma, Rajeshwar Singh, Arun Khajuria, Mohinder Singh, Narottam Singh, Ranjit Singh Sarpanch, Pritam Sarpanch, Balram Kundal, Avtar Singh, Mohammad Sharief, Harjeet Singh and Jasbeer Singh were also present.
