Calling upon the people of Jammu to unite to face the challenges posed to the very identity of Dogras by the present Kashmir centric PDP-BJP Government, Harsh Dev Singh, JKNPP Chairman and former Minister, on Monday said that never before had the bias against this region been more pronounced.
He said that the time had come to question those who had exploited the gullibility of Jammu masses by their reductive slogans and later dumped them for the lust of power. He was addressing a meeting of youth in Samba.
Pointing towards the recent decision of the government as announced by Dy CM to shelve the Artificial Tawi Lake project Jammu after Rs. 58 crore having been spent on it, Singh said that it indicated yet another abhorable surrender of the BJP ministers to the dictates of their Kashmiri counterparts.
He said that while the grants for conservation and beautification of Dal Lake were being enhanced year after year, despite no tangible results, the lakes of Jammu region were being mischievously ignored and disregarded. He said that total neglect of Mansar and Surinsar Lakes and abandonment of Tawi Lake Project was the greatest dis-service which any political party could do to Jammu region.
Recalling the most cowardly surrender of BJP over the issue of holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday, Singh said that BJP’s conduct deserved mourning and not were condemnation.
Equally contemptuous was the statement of Dy. CM Nirmal Singh who vainly attempted to cover up his cowardice on the issue by making a statement that state holidays would be revived in J and K.
Similar statements were being issued over Rohingyas deportation with hardly any action taken in this regard, rued Singh.
Welcoming new entrants in the party fold, Harsh said that JKNPP was the only regional party of Jammu region which had been fighting for the cause of the Dogras right from the time of its inception both inside and outside the legislature.
Singh said that since the BJP had miserably failed to live up to the people’s expectations by knowingly or unknowingly conniving in the implementation of separatist agenda on Kashmir, there was no option for the people of Jammu but to show it the door.
Harsh, while joining the activists in the party fold, appealed to the people especially the youth to adopt the dogma of the Panthers Party.
He asked the new entrants to propagate the agenda of the party at the grass root level and maintained that JKNPP was the only regional party of Jammu region which had experienced, unblemished and competent leaders who had the courage and capacity to fight the anti Jammu polices of the govt.
Yash Paul Kundal while flaying the BJP’s policy of deceit, duplicity and betrayal cautioned the people not to get hoodwinked again by the rhetoric and tall pronouncements of the Saffron party and exhorted them to support and strengthen their own Panthers Party for their bright future. He adjured the people to give a befitting reply to the BJP for its misdeeds and betrayals in the days to come.
Among those who spoke on the occasion included Rajeshwar Singh, Narotam Singh, Arun Khajuria, Mohinder Singh and Vishav Singh.
