Cross border traders seek trade resumption

A deputation of cross border traders headed by President of the Association Abdul Razak Khaki called on the Brigade Commander Poonch and District Development Commissioner (DDC) and requested for resuming the trade through Chakan-da-Bagh Poonch.
The deputation requested the Commander that due to abrupt closure of the trade, traders from both India and PoK have suffered heavy loss for non-finalisation of their accounts.
Accounting to the extent of crore of rupees is still to be finalised, they rued.
They said that the trade from Uri in the Valley was also closed simultaneously but the same has been resumed whereas in the case of Chakan-da-Bagh no decision has been taken till date. The deputation also handed over a memorandum to the Commander. The commander assured to take up the case with the higher authorities and recommend the reopening of the trade. Meanwhile, the deputation also met District Development Commissioner Poonch and handed over a memorandum.
The DDC also assured that the case would be taken up at his level also and he expected that the trade will resume soon.
Prominent among those present in the deputation include Krishan Singh Vice President, Imtiyaz Salaria, Amin Magrey and Shehzad Naik.
