A six year old child gets new life due to Indian Army and NGO

Army along with an NGO, "Gift of Life, facilitated heart surgery of Wasim Akram, a young six-year-old boy, Wasim Akram, resident of Bachianwali, Tehsil Surankote of Poonch District. Army initially coordinated the preliminary medical tests like echo-cardiography and pathology. Once the tests were done, the Army facilitated liaison with "Gift of Life", NGO, which look on the responsibility for bearing the expenditure of expensive heart surgery. Wasim had to visit to Delhi for the treatment Copied from Jammu Links News along with his father and the whole journey was facilitated by the Army through liaison in co-ordination with the NGO representatives and the hospital on 17 October 2016. He was then admitted to Max Super-Speciality Hospital, New Delhi and was operated upon by Dr. Dinesh Kumar Mani, a renowned Pediatrics heart surgeon. Now, Wasim has reached home healthy and safe which is a reason of immense joy for his parents and villagers. The locals have appreciated Army's effort in providing the child with a new life.
