JKPS girl selected for national painting competitions of NHPC

Swapnila Acharya, most talented girl of JK Public School, Kunjwani brought laurels to the school by winning second prize in category ‘B’ of NHPC Painting Competitions, held here recently.
In the first round of competitions held at school level, a total of 31,000 paintings were shortlisted across J and K State out of which 100 students were selected for the second round of competitions, which were held on November 14, 2017 at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium of Jammu University. Swapnila Acharya of JKPS Kunjwani gave a tough fight to her competitors in the second round also and secured the second position at the State level.
She has been awarded certificate of appreciation and cash prize of Rs 15,000. She has also been selected for national level competitions, which will now be held at Delhi in December 2017.
The Ministry of Power has launched this National Awareness Campaign to promote energy conservation in the country. Painting competition for students at the school, State and at national level is one of the activities of this campaign. It not only makes children aware about the need of conserving energy but also educates and involves their parents in the above cause. The School Management and Principal, S.K Singh felicitated Swapnila in a special Assembly of the school and motivated her to do best in the national level competitions.
