Shiksha Niketan High School celebrates 49th Annual Day

Shiksha Niketan High School, Gandhi Nagar celebrated its 49 years of excellence by holding Annual Day-cum-Prize Distribution Ceremony at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu with fervour on the theme Yaadein (Memorable Moments), here.
Member of Parliament Lok Sabha and President National Conference, Dr. Farooq Abdullah was the Chief Guest while former MLC, T.S Wazir and President of J&K Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee and Rajesh Bakshi Provincial Secretary NC Jammu were the Guests of Honour. The function was presided over by MLA Nagrota, Devender Singh Rana.
All the guests were presented bouquets by Rameshwar Mengi, the Principal of the School and other Incharges of the school faculty.
The function commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries along with Rita Mengi, Trustee RM Public School, Ravinder Kour Principal RMPS, Nirmal Sharma, Incharge Jeevan Nagar, Kiran Gupta Incharge Gandhi Nagar and Amit Gupta Incharge Higher Secondary Wing Jeevan Nagar.
An enthralling Saraswati Vandana was presented by the students of High Wing of the School under the supervision of Rama Abrol.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah lauded the performance of students and also the school for meeting high scholastic and co- scholastic arenas.
In his welcome address, Principal Rameshwar Mengi gave a brief description about the students who excelled in different fields.
He applauded the staff members who strived hard for shaping the bright future of the students for whom the nation will feel proud of one day.
The eye catcher of the programme “Shradhanjali” that emphasized the heart touching golden moments of the Founder Principal late Dev Dutt Mengi was presented by the students of High School Gandhi Nagar under the guidance of Suman Sharma and Sadia Choudhary.
The events were presented by the students under the guidance of Sonia Jamwal, Priya Kachroo and Mehak Kohli. The overall Incharge of the function was Rajni Gupta.
A total sum of Rs 1,98,500 was awarded in the form of cheques to the meritorious students who had distinguished in academics.
