Alleging large scale irregularities, nepotism and regional discrimination with Jammu in the process of selections conducted by PSC, Bhalla expressed his astonishment over the selection of plus two lecturers in the Commerce, which he said, had disappointment among aspirants.
He made a particular mention of the recently published select list of lecturers in Chemistry in which “out of total 59 posts of lecturers in Chemistry, 41 candidates have been selected from Kashmir and 18 candidates from Jammu, while in the RBA category, out of total 21 posts, 16 candidates are from Kashmir province and only five are from Jammu,” he said.
He further revealed that out of 9 posts of Junior Assistants in RBA category, 8 candidates were picked up from the Valley and just one candidate was selected from Jammu region. He accused the BJP of remaining criminally silent over the discrimination faced by the young fraternity of the region.
He said that as per the notification by JKSSB, 2,154 posts of teachers have been advertised under district cadre out of which 1,800 posts have been given to all 10 districts of Kashmir Valley whereas six districts of Jammu, including the winter capital Jammu, have been kept out of it. Even Ladakh region has also been deprived of these posts.
He regretted that 10,000 posts of SPOs sanctioned last year by the GOI for State were all allocated to Kashmir Division to the neglect of Jammu region with BJP leaders most shamelessly issuing statements that it was necessary in national interest.
Considering district wise allocation of posts, Singh rued that all the 10 districts of Kashmir region were allocated with their respective quota of posts in all the three advertisements but 6 districts of Kathua, Jammu, Poonch, Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar in Jammu province and 2 districts of Leh and Kargil in Ladakh province were out rightly left out.
While flaying the BJP’s policy of double standards, Bhalla cautioned people not to get trapped again by the rhetoric and tall promises and exhorted them to support and strengthen Congress Party which alone had the capacity to raise the voice of the people of Jammu region besides combating the anti-national elements.
On the local issues of Gandhi Nagar constituency, Bhalla regretted the total neglect of the constituency with not even a single new work taken up for execution during the last more than two years.
