JKPS boys, GMS Bhure Chak girls win titles of Satwari Zone

he JK Public School (JKPS) Kunjwani boys, who yesterday won 17-19 year title, today bagged the six-12 year final of the Ongoing Inter-School Zonal Level Football Tournament of Satwari zone, organised by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education under Khelo India at Government Model High School, Satwari Cantonment, here.
In the title clash, JKPS beat Government Middle School Bhure Chak 2-0. Earlier, in the semifinals, JKPS beat Government Middle School Rakh Bandhu 4-0 while GMS Bhure Chak trounced Government Middle School Satwari 3-0.
Similarly, in girls section, Government Middle School Upper Gadi Garh trounced Government Middle School Mandal by a solitary goal. In all, 96 young boys and girls drawn from different educational institutions took part in the competition. The event took place under the chairmanship District Officer (Jammu), Chanchal Kour and supervised by Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO), Poonam Kotwal.
The competition was officiated by the Technical Penal comprising Pankaj Sasan, Hardev Singh, Saleem-ul -Rehman, Ravinder Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Vishal, Anjana Rani, Kuldeep Singh, Pushpinder Singh and Harvinder Sodi.
The KB School won the boys under-17 year title beating Heritage School in the final of the under-16 boys event in the ongoing Khelo India Football tournament of Zone Gandhi Nagar. Headmistress of GGHS Gandhi Nagar, Kiran Rajput was Special Guest in today’s competition that took place at Green Fields Ground, Gandhi Nagar under the supervision of ZPEO, Anju Gupta.
The third place went to Jodhamal Public School. The competition was officiated by the Technical Penal comprising Nirmal Singh, Bharat Bhushan, Varinder Sharma, Jagjit Singh, Mandeep Singh and Sanjay Khajuria.
Government Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi claimed the girls 17-19 year title in the Khelo India Football event of Jammu Zone held at MA Stadium, here today. In the final, Mubarak Mandi defeated GHSS Nowabad 3-0 (Attisha Suri and Arti Sharma were the scorers). The event was held under the supervision of ZPEO Jammu, Ravi Kumari. In boys same age group, SRML Higher Secondary School emerged winner after they beat GBHSS Muthi 3-0 (Ritik, John Haider and Vishal). Earlier, in the preliminary round, SRML trounced GHSS Nowabad 6-0 ( Prabal Partap Singh, Ritik and Avinash).
The matches were officiated by the Technical Penal including Tanpreet Singh, Meenakshi, Maha Dev and Vaneet Pangotra.
The GHSS Burj Mandir bagged the boys 13-6 year age group title beating HS Gajansoo 2-0 while the boys six-12 year final was won by GD Goenka School after they trounced MS Sohagni 2-0. The girls 17-19 year final was won by GHSS Gole Gujral beating GHSS Jhiri 1-0. The Marh zone competition took place at GD Goenka School grounds.
Th GHS Rah Salyot beat HS Danna Chapri 1-0 to claim the title trophy in under-16 boys event. The MS Mallah remained third. Similarly, in girls section, M S Mawa Brahmana emerged winner. Principal of the host School, Veena Kerni was Special Guest, who encouraged the participants.
