LC’s Joint House Committee holds doctors guilty for Sadhya’s death: Arora

The Joint House Committee of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council held HoD Medicine, Dr Anil Mahajan and his team responsible for the death of Sadhya Arora.
This was disclosed by MLC Romesh Arora, who happened to be the father of deceased, while briefing media persons here on Friday seeking stern action against the guilty.
Arora said “I earlier mentioned that cause of death of my son was the negligence of Dr Anil Mahajan and his team, who were treating my son in the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu and the Joint House Committee has also affirmed my assertion in its internal report.”
Arora said that the Committee was constituted to look into the alleged medical negligence leading to the death of Sadhya Arora in Government Medical College, Jammu. He informed that the Joint House Committee in its internal report held the doctors treating Sadhya Arora responsible for his death. The committee has concluded that the death occurred due to the negligence of doctors and laid stress on action against them, he said.
He said that government should implement the report of the Joint House Committee and take stern action against the guilty. “The committee is going to submit its final report soon”, he added. Arora appealed to the government to take stern action against the guilty so that such incidents do not happen in future.
The Joint House Committee has also laid stress for the betterment of government hospitals like proper case history, medical records, proper diagnosis and hospital reports, he said. He also expressed concern over the reports submitted by the Forest, Rural Development Department, Social Welfare and Health Departments.
