The Cultural and Literary Events of Yuvtarang 2018 commenced with full swing in all the five constituent colleges of Cluster University of Jammu which were witnessed by a number of students and faculty members of the respective colleges.
Under Saahityam (Literati) at GGM Science College, in Essay Writing, Khuram Ali Shah from GGM Science College, Shivalika Sharma from GCOE and Iqjyot from GGM Science College got first, second and third prizes respectively followed by short story writing competition in which Rishabh Bali of GGM Science College, Kritika Sambyal from Government MAM College and Garima from GCW Gandhi Nagar were adjudged first, second and third respectively. The events were judged by Prof Shalini Sharma and Prof. Raj.
On 21st February, 2018, GGM Science College Jammu hosted Elocution, Poetry Recitation & Debate, Government College of Education Jammu hosted Clay Modeling, Photography & Flower Arrangement, Government College of Women Gandhi Nagar Jammu hosted Mime, Mono Acting & Mimicry and Government MAM College Jammu hosted Light Vocal-Solo, Classical Vocol-Solo & Semi Classical Vocal-Solo.
In Elocution Anchal Bharti of GGM Science College, Mohsina Aslam of GCW Gandhi Nagar bagged first and second prizes respectively whereas the third prize was shared by Kanika Sharma of GCW Gandhi Nagar and Gold Sharma of GCOE. In Poetry Recitation, Varsha Rajput of GCOE, Muskan Sawhney of GGM Science College got the first and second prizes whereas the third prize was shared by Mohsina Aslam of GGM Science College and Raghav Sharma of Government MAM College. The events were judged by Prof Rita Jatinder (Retd Principal) and Dr Monica Sethi (JU).
In Debate, Kaniz Fatima and Jagmeet Kour of GCW Gandhi Nagar and Sheriya Sareen of GCOE stood first, second and third respectively. The event was judged by Prof. Vijay Kotwal (former Principal) and Prof A. Wani (former Professor, JU).
In Gayan Vadan (Music), Light Vocal Solo, Sushmita Bannerjee of GCW Gandhi Nagar, Jammu got first Prize, Gurjot Singh and Aditya Kumar of Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu shared second position and Pallvi of GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu got third Prize.
In Classical Vocal Solo, Pallavi of GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu, Satyinder of Govt MAM College and Rohan of Govt MAM College got 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize respectively. The events were judged by Prof. Kailash Mehra (Former Professor and famous singer) and Prof. T.K Jalali who also adjudged the Semi – Classical Vocal Solo, in which Satyinder Kumar of Government MAM College, Gurjot Singh of Govt SPMR College of Commerce and Sushmita Bannerjee of GCW Gandhi Nagar got 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize respectively.
In San Rachna, Monika Chauhan of GGM Science College, Diksha Manhas of GCOE and Simran Ratra of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively in Clay Modelling. The event was judged by Dr Samridhi Sharma (JU) and Rakesh Sharma (IMFA).
In Photography, Ankit Sharma of GGM Science College, Sanam of GCOE were adjudged 1st, 2nd and Vishakha Bargotra of GCOE and Harshit Lochan of SPMR College of Commerce shared 3rd prize. The event was judged by Prof. Sudesh Kumar and Amit Bhardwaj, Video Journalist, Times Now Channel.
In Flower Arrangement, Mansavi Khullar of Govt. MAM College, Aashna Arora of GCW Gandhi Nagar got 1st and 2nd prizes whereas Pooja Billoria of GCOE and Shruti Sharma of Govt. MAM College shared 3rd Prize. The event was judged by Prof Neeru Sharma (JU) and Rakesh Sharma (IMFA).
