Enraged over the indifference shown by constituents of State Coalition Government especially BJP towards their genuine demand, the protestors on Monday asked BJP leadership to immediately step down accusing the party of bargaining the interests of people of this region and toeing the line of Kashmir centric ideology.
Nowshera Bandh on Monday entered the 11th consecutive day in which hundreds of people staged a sit in and later took out a protest rally demanding district status for Nowshera.
As usual the protesters raised slogans in favour of their demand for district and criticised the government for not fulfilling their commitment and delaying the issue even after agreeing to the inescapable necessity of posting Additional DC. Various speakers said that all pros and cons of the demand have been checked by the team of cabinet ministers and even the Chief Minister herself. They said that they will continue their Dharna till they receive the orders of its approval and posting of ADC.
Prominent among those present in the protest rally include President Beopar Mandal Subhash Kapoor, President Sanatan Dharam Sabha Jagdish Chander Sahney, Bharat Bhushan Gupta, President Bar Association Ratan Singh, Advocate Varun Gujral, Ashwani Sharma and others.
Sunderbani town also observed complete Bandh on the 5th consecutive day. Heavy deployment of police has been made in the town and section 144 was imposed near National Highway in Sunderbani. Protesters led by Joint Action Committee took out a protest march and tried to block National Highway but were detained by police.
Later, in the evening a meeting of Joint Action Committee of Sunderbani members was held and decided to continue indefinite protest. Members of local Beopar Mandal and all the political parties also attended the meeting.
Prominent among those who were present in the meeting included Arun Kumar Sharma, Sat Pal Sharma, Vinod Sharma, Sarabjeet, Shamsher Singh, Vishal Kumar, Rahul Sudan, Shekar Sharma, Yog Raj, Sanjay Kumar, Rajesh Prasher, Jitendra Singh and many others.
In Kalakote town also entire market remained closed as mark of protest against the biased decision of the government by creating ADC’s post for Kotranka, ignoring others in the district. Residents alleged that a conspiracy is being hatched to connect some areas of Kalakote with the Kotranka Sub Division on political considerations and it will not be tolerated by the people from Kalakote area at any cost. It was third day of the Bandh in the town today.
