Restore Rehris-Fahris at existing places: Tarigami asks Govt

Rehri-Fahri Workers Union Jammu, held demonstration under the banner of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), here to protest against the draconian move of the Traffic Police to lift Rehris-Fahris of poor workers whose livelihood depends only on this small self-employed job.
A large number of workers across the Jammu city attended the protest and shouting anti administration slogans demanded restoration of their Rehris-Fahris. Addressing the protesting workers, M.Y Tarigami President of CITU and MLA condemned the move of Traffic Police rendering hundreds of these poor daily earners jobless.
“The Constitution of our country provides that it is duty of government to give job to its citizens and in case if the government fails citizens have the right to do his any self employed job to earn livelihood for his family,” he said.
The innocent poor workers were also brutally beaten by Traffic Police and unlawfully detained in the lock up for one or two days without any reason, he said adding that the purchasable materials and cash was also snatched by the Traffic Police. He urged upon the present dispensation to permit the poor workers to reinstall their Rehris-Fahris at their existing places, pay compensation to the poor workers for the loss they suffered and strict action against the person responsible for unlawful detention of poor workers.
