Patwaris hold protest, project demands

On the statewide call given by All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association, Patwaris across the State held a protest on Monday to press for resolution of their demands.
A large number of Patwaris and Girdawars assembled in the Office of Deputy Commissioner and held a Dharna in favour of their demands. “We are going for strike to awake government for fulfilling our demands without any further delay,” Senior Vice President AJKPA, Mushtaq Ahmed Ganai said. “We demand grade pay of graduate Patwaris, timely DPC, creation of Patwar Halqas and GQ Circles, ban on direct recruitment of NTs, enhancement of allowances, rent for Patwar Khanas (Private Accommodation) till construction of Patwar Khanas, etc,” he said. He said that government should fulfill demands of AJKPA at the earliest so that public may not suffer. “We are going for continue pen down strike if government fail to fulfill our demands without any further delay,” he asserted.
Those who joined the protest include Provincial President Jammu Farooq Mailk, District Secretary Jammu Shabir Ahmed Bhat and Ex State President AJKPA, Raman Raj Sharma.
