Patwaris’ strike enters day 10, revenue work paralysed

Beginning their indefinite pen down strike, Patwaris staged protest on tenth day on Wednesday across the State to press for resolution of their long-pending demands.
At Jammu, all the Girdawars and Patwaris assembled in Deputy Commissioner Office, here and raised slogans in fvaour of their demands.
Protesters warned the government of more “intense protests” if their demands are not considered at the earliest.
People who needed revenue documents and other information related to land deals were suffered a lot due to strike.
Speaking on the occasion, Senior Vice President AJKPA, Mushtaq Ahmed Ganai said that the protests are being held across the State to get the attention of the government towards our genuine demands.
“We have time and again taken up our grievances and demands with the government. Despite assurances and promises, nothing was done on ground,” he said.
The association demanded grade pay of graduate Patwaris, timely DPC, creation of Patwar Halqas and GQ Circles, ban on direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildars, enhancement of allowances, rent for Patwar Khanas (Private Accommodation) till construction of Patwar Khanas, etc.
Others who addressed the gathering include Provincial President AJKPA Jammu Mohd Farooq Malik, Ex-State President Raman Raj Sharma, District President Jammu Kaleem Ahmed, Provincial Secretary Jammu Mohd Saleem and District Secretary and Jammu Shabir Ahmed Bhatt.
