Expressing anguish over continuous discrimination, former MLA and NPP State president Balwant Singh Mankotia reiterated that separate Chief Minister (CM) for Jammu is not demand but need of the hour to end decade old discriminatory attitude of the ruling parties.
He claimed that without formation of separate Jammu State, people of Jammu region would not receive justice and equal rights.
Panchayat Chalo Abhiyan started by the NPP in Jammu region on March 1, 2018 to make Dogra people aware about the discriminatory attitude of the present dispensation reached the Hiranagar constituency.
During three day tour of Hiranagar constituency, Mankotia addressed rallies at different panchayats and claimed that since 1947, Dogra people used to launch agitations to get their genuine demands redressed from the Government. In 1953 people launched agitation against two flags, two constitutions, in 2008 for Amarnath land row and now CBI demand for Rasana case, every time people launched struggle for their genuine rights and demands.
He appealed to the people of Jammu region to launch decisive agitation for separate CM so that in future no more agitation should be launched for more than two years.
Ruling BJP is hatching a conspiracy to lure the Dogra people by playing with their sentiments and people will again bow down before the party and people have to remain vigilant from this conspiracy, warned Mankotia.
Among others, Robin Sharma, Balbir Sing, Satish Sharma, Advocate Sohan Singh, Jagdish Chander and Subash Singh also addressed the gathering.
