Intensifying mass contact programme against the ‘anti-people policies’ of PDP-BJP Alliance, former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla launched a scathing attack on the PDP-BJP dispensation for pushing Jammu and Kashmir to wall by creating a situation of drift, showing insensitivity towards people’s aspirations as a result of which the State is in total chaos.
Addressing a public gathering here at Govindpura in Chatta on Wednesday, Bhalla targeted the BJP asking what it has delivered during the past three and half years except creating controversies one after another.
“The people had mandated the party for ‘Acche-Din’ and what they got in return is just a nightmare,” he said, adding that by exploiting sentiments of innocent Dogras for decades, the BJP stands exposed for the self-centric approach of its leaders, whose greed has superimposed public interest in every arena. Bhalla highlighted problems faced by the people with special reference to those living in the Jammu region. He said the power and water supply is erratic while the condition of roads has become vulnerable due to negligence thus putting the lives of pedestrians and commuters to grave risk.
“There is no appearance of the government as demoralized, defunct and rudderless administration putting an unsuccessful front to meet the aspirations of the people. How can you live in such a scorching heat without minimum possible electricity and drinking water”, he quipped. He alleged that the Coalition Government has failed to solve day to day problems of the people and common masses have to agitate on streets even for getting basic amenities like water, power and ration. The programme was organised by Ravi Kumar. Among those present on the occasion include Ex Corporator Amrit Bali, Pawan Bhagat, Panch Sham Lal, Sunil Slathia, Bal Krishan, Kamal Kumar, Rajinder Singh, Jeeto Devi, Bholi Devi, Harcharan Singh, Dr. Darshan Singh and Madan Mohan Sharma were also present.
