Educational institutions celebrate birthday of Lord Krishna

JAMMU, Aug 31: Various educational institutions celebrated birthday of Lord Krishna popularly known as Krishna Janmashtami, Janmashtami or Gokulashtami.
Maharaja Harisingh DAV Cent Public School Akhnoor organised various inter house competitions on the eve of Krishna Janmashthmi including flute decoration competition, Rakhi making competition, kite making competition and jhula making competition. The winners in these competitions were also awarded. Principal Alok Betab apprised the gathering that these activities are part and parcel of true education and encouraged the students to participate in forthcoming activities whole heartedly.
Modern Montessori International Preschool (London), Trikuta Nagar Jammu celebrated Janmashtami with great zeal and zest in the school premises. Principal Pragya Gupta explained the significance of Janmashtami. On the occasion, a small drama on the birth of Lord Krishna was performed by the students. Children also performed on various songs including Hare Krishna Hare Rama, Radha Teri Chunri and Pyara Knahiya. Directors of the school Bhavna Rohmetra and Sapna Rohmetra congratulated the team of MMI for presenting a wonderful programme.
RM Public School celebrated Janmashtami by organizing crown activity, in which the students performed different activities and acts on the birth and rasleela of Lord Krishna. Students also performed dance items and took part on poem recitation activity. Chairman Rameshwar Mengi and Trustee Rita Mengi were also presented on the occasion.
Little Millennium celebrated Janmashtami at its Roop Nagar Gandhi Nagar and Trikuta Nagar centres. Students were attired as Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha. Various scenes from the life of Lord Krishna were performed by the students. Chief Learning Officer Akhila Magotra was also present on the occasion and threw light on the life and teachings of Lord Rama.
MV International School celebrated Janmashtami, wherein tiny tots presented melodious song followed by Lyrical Skit ‘Diverse Krishna Leelas’. A fancy dress competition was also organized. Hira Lal Abrol Chairman MV International School graced the occasion by his presence. Sudershan Dass along with his 12 disciples from ISKCON Temple Udhampur visited MV International School as part of the program and chanted Krishna Mantra.
Daffodils Care Convent Playway School, Jain Bazar celebrated Janmashtmi. On the occasion, students participated in various activities. Principle Shikha Puri apprised the students about the importance of the day.
Janmashtami was celebrated at IDPS. The occasion was graced by NK Karn, President IDPS Society, Rajni Sehgal, Superintendent District Jail Udhampur, Vinita Sawhney, wife of Former Minister Yogesh Sawhney and Manisha Choudhary, Chairperson IDPS. IDPIANs adorned the roles of Lord Krishna and all his life sequences. Randeep Wazir, Principal IDPS and Managing Directors Suminder Singh and Swaran Singh Choudhary were also present on the occasion.
