Young debutant of Sydney Thunder – Jason Sangha claimed his maiden Big Bash League (BBL) half-century against the Melbourne Stars on Friday. He became the youngest-ever player to hit a BBL fifty.

Sangha, who is one of the most promising young batsmen in Australian domestic cricket, scored 63 runs in just 36 balls.

Touted as the next ‘Ricky Ponting’, Sangha lived up to the hype grabbing four fours and four sixes. He along with Chris Green helped their side Sydney Thunder to score 181 for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.

The match has been reduced to eight overs due to rains, giving the Stars the target of 90 runs.
