PM Modi today interacted with a cross-section of students, teachers, and parents from India and abroad in an expanded edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2.0 at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi.

Speaking to participants from across the world, Modi said he was happy that parents and teachers were also part of the programme.

The event started with cultural performances by students, parents and teachers. The event was telecast live on Doordarshan and was also carried live on other television channels.

"This 'Pariksha Pe Charcha 2' Townhall is a mini-India. It is also a place where we have in our midst the future of India. I am happy parents and teachers too are part of the programme," the prime minister said.

In response to a question, he said, "I will not say exposure to technology is a bad thing for students. Technology should lead to expansion of the mind and as a means to innovate."

He advised parents not to impose their own life ambitions on their kids.

"Parents fail when they impose their own life ambitions on their kids; parents should try to identify the talent in their kids," he said.

On kids getting engrossed in video games like PUBG, PM Modi said, "We should encourage our kids to adopt technology; to discuss technology but ensure they dont get controlled by technology."

An online competition was organised from January 7 to 17 for college and school students, their parents and teachers to select those who would interact with the Prime Minister.
