J&K admin issues notice to 19 pvt schools for charging ‘exorbitant’ fee

The Jammu and Kashmir Governor's administration has issued notification to 19 tuition based schools for charging "extreme" expense and constraining guardians to buy non-endorsed books and stationery from chose merchants in Jammu.

The Directorate of School Education Jammu has given three days' an ideal opportunity to answer to the notification issued to the principals of these 19 schools.

"Protests have been gotten from the guardians in regards to charging of extravagant expense without the endorsement of skilled specialist, the guardians are being compelled to buy textbooks (not recommended by the expert) and stationery things from particular sellers at high rates", Director School Education Jammu Anuradha Gupta said in the notice to principals here.

She said that so as to confirm the objections, the directorate had comprised groups, which presented their reports to it.

The reports uncovered that these schools had presented books other than those recommended by the capable expert — CBSE/NCERT/JKBOSE (Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education) — up to the center dimension, which adds up to infringement of the standards overseeing the authorization, acknowledgment and connection of these schools, she said.

"You are additionally damaging the requests of the Fee Fixation Committee with respect to expense structure and the requests of the High Court too", the Director said in the notice.

"In this way, before continuing further, you are therefore approached to clarify your situation inside three days, falling flat which important activity as justified under principles will be started against you which incorporates de-acknowledgment," she said.

Jammu saw challenges different schools for over the top charges and compelling guardians to buy books, stationery and outfits of different kinds from schools itself or from specific merchants in the city. Esteemed instructive organizations, for example, K C Public School, Heritage School, British International School, Presentation Convent Senior auxiliary school, Doon International School, Banyan International School, JK Public School, IAF School are among the 19 schools which got the notice.
